Writing with the Light.
The exhibition Vittorio Storaro. Writing with lights is set up at Palazzo Chiaramonte-Steri, known as “Steri”, in Palermo. Steri is one of the most symbolic buildings in the city and it is an example of the new architectural style of the ‘300, the “chiaramontano” style.
The exhibition brings to light the interrelation between different forms of art: photography, cinematography and visual art, by comparing a selection of images realized by the overlapping of photographic impressions. These frames have been taken from the most famous works of Vittorio Storaro and are accompanied by photographic reproductions of several paintings which have made up a source of inspiration for the Artist.
The exhibition is divided into three sections which reflect the strands of the thirty-years study of Vittorio Storaro about the themes of Light, Colours and Elements.
In fact, the theme of the artificial and natural light is analyzed as well as the one of the balance between the primary elements (earth, water, air and fire) and their influence on the life and unconscious of everyone. An important focus is put on the theme of colours, perceived as the symbolic atmosphere of the different stages of life.
Thus the exhibition, of international nature, purposes the possibility of revisiting the creative path of the Maestro, analyzing the visual imaginary that has characterized his work from the beginning of his brilliant career up to the present day.
