A serial site that embraces the whole city telling its story and narrating the events of which the Sicilian land was the protagonist

Heterogeneous artistic languages, ranging from the Islamic, Byzantine, Latin up to the Sicilian Norman kingdom’s extraordinary art, are expressed and dialogue in the nine civil and religious monuments of the UNESCO site “Palermo Arabo-Normanna of Cefalù and Monreale” , making the city one of the protagonists of the history of art and architecture of the Mediterranean Middle Age.

Able to combine itself in unique forms from time to time, the set of buildings is an example of material interaction and interchange between different cultural components of heterogeneous historical and geographical origin, giving life to an original architectural and artistic style of exceptional Universal value.
